Aim: To encourage all people at Warwick to praise, worship and engage with God in spirit and truth through music.
As a CU we must be concerned about worship - our mission exists because others at Warwick do not worship God. We must be compassionate to others and passionate about God (Matthew 22:37-40). We need to worship God by loving and serving Him when we're alone and together. Throughout the Bible music and song are one of the ways used to praise and worship God (2 Chronicles 5; Psalm 100; Colossians 3:16; Revelation 5). We need competent people with a heart for worshipping God to lead our music and singing, to help us hear (PA team) and to display the words (Projection team). To be involved please contact Jez. However, all are called to sing (Psalm 95) and we want everyone to feel free to respond to God through music as they feel comfortable whilst respecting different styles. "Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshippers the Father seeks" (John 4:23). As a CU may we be those true worshippers, understanding the importance of passionate, honest, thoughtful, biblical worship and may our music reflect this. For more info on the role of worship and music in CU have a look at: CU Music Summary - a brief summary of what worship is, how music relates to worship, what the role of worship and music is in CU, and how we want you to be involved.
