God cares passionately about the nations! It's always been His plan to include all people groups in creating one people for Himself (Revelation 7:9-10) Jesus' last words to his disciples as recorded in Matthew were "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you." (Matthew 28:19-20) This should guide all of our international work as a CU. As a CU we are always seeking to reach the lost people on our campus and we are incredibly priveleged to have so many countries represented right here on our doorstep. So what's going on? The Globe Team are a group of people who are committed to help in whatever capacity with international events. Those of us who are able to meet once a week to plan Globe International Cafe for that Friday. Globe International Cafe happens every Friday in the Chaplaincy. We set up at 4:30pm ready to start at 5pm, and it runs for just under 2 hours. It is a chance to make new friends and share the Gospel with them in our conversation. There are refreshments and themed activities each week - games, quizzes, presentations etc - and we have talks, testimonies, optional Bible studies each week. We also advertise a small group or one-to-one evangelistic Bible study called "Discover" for those international students who want to know more. Globe Trips are one off day trups to local attractions (or Leamington...) Globe Weekend Away takes place in the summer term. We take a group of students who come to Globe Cafe away and hang out for the weekend and share the Gospel with them. Evangelistic events include the Christmas and Easter parties as well as different events run during out CU Mission Week. Pray: Come along and pray for the world at the CU prayer meeting. Tuesday 5pm in the Chapel (room immediately on your right as you enter the Chaplaincy). Short-term mission opportunites: we also have lots of information on these, so if you're looking for a way to serve God in this country or abroad during your LONG holidays, feel free to ask!
